Kaspersky Best Anti-Virus Software & Internet Security

Kaspersky Antivirus Download

Kaspersky Antivirus was created by Kaspersky Lab and remains one of the best antivirus solutions available today. Kaspersky does offer a free antivirus software for thirty days (30) and superior free virus protection in that time. Kaspersky Antivirus is not free, at the end of the 30 day free trial, you will need to either uninstall the software or pay $29.95. The paid version protects three computers for a year. Kaspersky Antivirus is robust and well thought out, it has won some awards and has a devoted user following. The awards it has won were being “A-listed” by the PC Journal PC Pro in the United Kingdom. Kaspersky Antivirus is very timely in their database updates and very through in their heuristic scanning engine. Additionally, Kaspersky was rated to have “the industry’s fastest scan times” on Windows Vista by PassMark in June 2008. Recently, Kaspersky was rated #1 by both PC World and PC Pro (second year in a row).

Kaspersky Labs also offers a free spyware/malware remover and a free online virus scan and removal over the internet. To use this feature, you need to install their trusted Java module, but once it’s installed it ran smoothly (note, you must have Java already on your computer). Kaspersky labs also have another great feature on their website, their “threats” page. I actually spent a good half hour or so reading about the latest viruses and malware finding from their experts. In my experience, you should read over the company’s website before you consider buying the software because if it’s created by idiots, what good will it be at protecting your computer?

Kaspersky Antivirus’s interface is simple. There are four tabs which provide you with the program’s functions. Under the “Protection” tab, you will find the functions Anti-Malware, Online Security, and System Security. The Anti-Malware function is important because it scans your computer in real time and alerts you when it finds malware. The online security function monitors web traffic and instant messages for viruses (for example, a virus inserted into a picture). Lastly, the System security function watches your computer, in real time for threats. This symphony of virus, malware, spyware, and identity protection creates a very welcoming feeling. In addition to the protection tab, where you’ll spend the majority of your time, you will find the Scan, Updates, and License tabs. The Scan feature allows you to scan your full computer or specific files and folder. The updates tab guides you through the update process and allows you to set automatic updates, lastly, the license tab is where you input your license information!

In closing, I found Kaspersky Antivirus to be very easy to use and very secure. It found the viruses I had on my computer and cleaned them without incident. I also tested it against spyware and it performed admirably. The interface is simple and clean, and it’s easy to work with. If you’re looking to buy it, make sure you try out the trial period before you consider one of its competitors.

Have you been able to give Kaspersky a try?  How did it compare to other free virus removal and free antivirus programs?  What about malware?  Could we call it a free malware removal tool as well?  Let us know with your comments below!
