Super Antispyware – Best Spyware Removal

Super Antispyware is the best and most stupendous application out there in terms of spyware removal and detection, okay, I may have over exaggerated that just a little but; however, the name implies that it is something special. Let’s have a look see and see what’s what about this truly boisterously named product! Super Antispyware is created by Nick Skrepetos, the founder really. Super Antispyware comes in two flavors; a free version and a premium version that will set you back $29.95. By purchasing the premium version, you gain several functions which are useful in every day scenarios, such as “First Chance Prevention”, which monitors key areas of the system for changes. This technology is made possible by a behaviorally based approach to combating spyware. Another cool feature gained with the premium version is “Auto Scanning”, which automatically scans your computer once a day. For the purpose of this review (free spyware removal) we’ll be focusing on the free version. The perks of the premium version may sound appealing, but don’t think the Free version sucks, it doesn’t. The free version of the program is actually very good, if you don’t mind doing things yourself. For instance, to update the software you have to do it manually (click a few buttons), the free version still detects and removes all sorts of badness – spyware, malware, trojans, worms… you get the idea. The free version and the professional version also share a common interface, save for a couple features.

Super Antispyware’s interface honestly reminds me of a book. There are two columns and on both are the program’s options. There are scanning features, update features and quarantine features and settings. The scanning feature takes you to a page where it directs you on how to scan some or your entire computer. To speed up scanning, Super Antispyware allows you to filter what kinds of files are scanned in the search for baddies. When I scanned, I disallowed files larger than 4MB (the default) and I also told the program not to search non-executable files as what damage are they going to do! The program can also search your cookies for known sites that are hostile. When it does identify a threat, it takes you to a page with a LOT of information on it. This page includes a very verbose description of every bit of badness found on your computer, for example, I loaded up some adware onto my venerable XP machine and ran this software against it, not only did the software file the infection, clean it, but I also got a scholarly report on every last detail of what the adware was up to. I found this a most interesting feature. Now, there is one last unique feature of Super Antispyware. After it removes whatever was occupying your hard drive sectors, it actually makes an attempt at repairing whatever damage was caused. I do like this program and I think the free version is good enough for any non-business user. I think it’s worth the price, try it!
