Cyber Defender Internet Security
Cyber Defender is the only software I tested that advertises its ability to detect threats early, Cyber Defender has a built in function where it can analyze and thwart emerging attacks upon your computer, your data, or your identity. Cyber Defender in show of their confidence of their program offers a trial that is 30 days long. During this time, I am quite sure you will be taken by the program’s dynamic and easy to use interface along with its very workable features. Cyber Defender is about 20Mb, and within this package you get the program and its help files. I recommend you read the help files as there is generally some useful advice regarding the program’s function and usage. Anyways, now that you have the program, it is time to get scanning, the first thing you should always do is to update the definition files, there were only a few updates for me, also make sure you download the most current version of the software to prevent long update times.
When you load the program up, open it, wait patiently for it to update, I hope you notice as I did how easy it is to use. In my opinion, it is about time that a company figured out that the users would rather be confronted with having all the files on one page rather than having to scour the program’s depths looking for the specific function they are after. The main interface clues you in on how the program rates your computer’s ability to thwart attacks, it gives you the options to enable or disable spam and scam protection and you can scan your whole computer with the “scan now” feature. Now, I would like to reiterate on the ease of use, and it is because of this that the program outperforms many others, because an easy to use free virus protection/free spyware protection program will make it quicker and less stressful to operate. When I was using the program, I was actually surprised at how few of my resources it actually consumed. My CPU load was rarely over 25% (with Windows running). Regardless, Vista users will be happy to know this software is rated to run on Vista as well.
I will touch on the protection details the program offers briefly, the program offers virus, spyware, and e-mail scam protection. It does this by watching all of your traffic flowing through your computer for keywords and signatures that say “spam”. The early functions do work, they do detect the problem “early” and prevent it. A couple additional features of the program are that you can clear private internet data with it, material like cookies, links, web history can all be whisked away quickly with this program. It is a protection suite! Despite the performance and protection benefits, I think another great selling point is that 24/7/365, you can call their help number and speak with a human, that’s worth the money any day.
